Kratom is a commonly misunderstood herb in the United States. That’s because it had only just made its way here a few years ago and the market is growing. Before we Americans contacted kratom, the plant has enjoyed a rich history though being mostly limited to its native origin. Kratom is otherwise known as Mitragyna speciosa.
The kratom plant comes from Southeast Asia and is native to such countries as Indonesia, Malaysia, Thailand, Vietnam, and a couple of others.
Here, you can learn specifically about Green Powder Kratom and how to get fresh kratom products from a premium vendor.
Kratom leaves can be harvested at any stage of a plant’s maturity, which may be early, mid, or late. Unlike other plants, kratom does not have a particular ‘ripeness’ stage.
However, kratom leaves have different features and produce different effects depending on how mature they were at harvest. The most recognizable of these features is the color of the veins of the leaves. This may be white, red, or green, corresponding to the three major divisions of kratom strains. Also, each of these strains has different conditions for storage and processing. And besides that, they have varying alkaloid content; the alkaloids in kratom, particularly Mitragynine and 7-hydroxy mitragynine, determine the effect each type will have. Note anyway, that there is a fourth, emerging strain, known as Yellow (or gold) kratom.
Although green powder kratom is the focus here, this section explores the major kratom strains so that you may fully understand what makes the difference between them.
While green kratom is our focus here (particularly, Green Maeng Da kratom), we will explore the different types of kratom strains so that you may fully understand what makes the difference here.
Kratom leaves have white veins when they are at the early stages of their maturity. When they are harvested at this stage, they are referred to as white-veined kratom strains. Usually, the leaves of this strain are stored and dried indoors, where it’s dark.
As kratom leaves age, the white veins give way for green veins, matching the full color of the leaves. Kratom leaves at this stage have not fully matured yet but they are not premature either. These mid-growth kratom leaves have a two-stage drying process. First, they are stored and dried indoors, away from sunlight. Soon afterward, they are taken outside to dry under full sunlight, completing the drying process.
Leaves of fully matured kratom plants have red veins. These leaves can be stored and dried indoors or outdoors as the producer wishes, but UV (ultraviolet) light must be available. If dried outdoors, the light from the sun is enough. If stored indoors, then one has to make use of artificial UV light.
Yellow-veined kratom strains are the newest and least popular kratom strains. Some think that the leaves of kratom plants in this stage were harvested when the plant is post-maturity and the leaves have turned yellow. However, that is not always the case. Usually, yellow-veined kratom strains are not literally named, but instead are used to refer to hybrids of other strains.
How we produce fresh green powder kratom
Quality and safety are the two primary reasons kratom must be kept organic and pure. There is still limited research into the workings of kratom, especially the effects of kratom when its components interact with other chemicals. Kratom is still a relatively new herb, so there are some things we do not know yet. What we do know, however, is that perfect naturalness is the only guarantee of safety for powder kratom and other kratom products.
Therefore, we give strict instructions to our farmers to not add any chemicals to the kratom they are planting. That includes pesticides and herbicides. As such, we only use sustainable measures to grow our kratom.
This practice goes up to processing. We do not use any chemical additives with our powder kratom or capsules. Apart from the fact that additives may be unsafe, they can also reduce the effects of the alkaloid content of the powder kratom, effectively diminishing its quality. That translates into less satisfaction.
Some kratom vendors use additives on their kratom products, though, usually to enhance their effects. But this is not research-backed and you must be wary. The safe side is organic, pure, and fresh powder kratom.
Popular Green Powder Kratom Strains
- Green Bali: As evidenced by its name, red Bali kratom comes from the Bali island in Indonesia, one of the most popular tourist destinations in the world. Bali serves as the central location for exporting kratom leaves cultivated within the island itself and its surrounding regions.
- Green Borneo: This kratom strain is named for Borneo, the third-largest island in the world and the largest in Asia. This massive island, from which forests the kratom is sourced stretches over the three countries of Indonesia, Malaysia, and Brunei.
- Green Maeng Da: Maeng Da kratom, from Thailand, is produced by a special method of grafting, which naturally enhances the effects of the kratom. ‘Maeng Da’ is a Thai slang meaning ‘pimp grade’ and used to refer to something of superior quality.
- Green Thai: This refers to the general Thailand strain of kratom. It is typically more expensive than the Red Dragon, which is also sourced from Thailand. Not all Thai kratom is grown in Thailand exactly though. Sometimes, they are cultivated in other areas from seeds gotten in Thailand.
- Green Vietnam: Obviously, this refers to a kratom strain from Vietnam. It is rare but effective. And that’s why it is widely sought after.
